Borgward Pick Up

What I assume (please correct me!) is an after market act of creativity, a Borgward Isabella pick up (or ute as we cal them in New Zealand).

It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but you can’t fault the attention to detail – looking under the car it’s clear a lot of work has gone into this restoration.

  1. I think you’re right. Looks like a reworked wagon. I had similar conversion in the late ’60s. I bought a wagon with a damaged roof for parts, then realized that removing the roof aft of the door-post might make a pretty good light truck. At the time I also had a Kombi as daily workhorse and an Isabella TS coupé powered by a Mustang in-line six.

    • Thanks for the reply – I thought it must have been something like a reworked wagon. Thanks for your reply! A TS coupe powered by a Mustang in-line siz must have been something. Cheers AB
